Good morrow fellow gents and ladies. I’m in the process of making a tutorial for one of my upcoming paintings which I will post first and then the tutorial. I have looked at many tutorials and their formats. With some of them I learn something but most of them are so vague that I usually feel that I just wasted a couple of minutes of my life in order to read the bloody thing. Stuff like “add tones” and “now you paint the hair” helps nothing. I decided to be extremely descriptive, or at least as much as possible in my tutorial so that the reader can fully understand how I get to my end results.

But I want to do some research with you guys first. I’d like to know what you guys would like to see in a tutorial, something you feel is lacking in most other tutorials or if you want me to cover something specific. The painting I’m planning to do the tutorial on is a basic front view portrait. So far it is one of the most realistic works I’ve done. I did so intentionally because I’m painting someone I know. Also why I chose this painting is because I usually have a bit of a comic like style and I want to focus on the technique and not let the style in the way.

So let me know what you guys think and even if I SHOULD make a tutorial. Have a good one.
